Changes are coming to New Zealand’s Relay Services:

From 1 February 2021, you will experience changes to the way you access and use NZ’s Relay Services. A new-look website will combine all services in one place, including the Video Interpreting Service.

In the meantime, the current relay services will remain available as usual up until 31 January 2021.

Video Interpreting Service (VIS) is Free

Call or meet with anyone with VIS

Our hours of service are:

08.00 – 20.00 Monday to Friday
10.00 – 17.00 Saturday
12.00 – 17.00 Sunday

Easily make phone calls or have in-person meetings using New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) with VIS. Use a video interpreter over Skype. People who use NZSL and people who speak English can communicate freely. NZSL users can even use it when travelling overseas! These services are for Deaf, hearing impaired, or speech-disabled and hearing New Zealanders.

Use VIS to Make Phone Calls

Easily communicate over the phone with VIS. Connect to a video interpreter through Skype or a standard phone. Using NZSL through video allows the NZSL user to truly express themselves in their native language.
